of the Deltapark Vitalresort.
Deltapark Vitalresort's story started in 1930. Find out more about the historic property now.
The enterprising Lisel Moser searched for a suitable place to hold camps and meetings for youth from thee reformed church. Over the years, with a great deal of personal commitment, she transformed the estate in Gwatt-Schilf first into the "Reformed Home" and later into the "GWATT Center".
The Schilfhaus was built in 1945.
The three "tent-shaped" buildings were built in the 1960's.
Twenty years later, came the central "Gwattstern" building. The youth camp gradually became a modern seminar and hotel business. As it grew, however, the church (which owned the business at the time) realized that it lacked the resources and expertise.
The GWATT Center was sold to the Hauenstein family and Klinik Schönberg AG (part of Hauenstein Holdings) in 2008. From this point onwards, planning began for the extensive renovation work and new concept for a modern resort operation.
Hauenstein Immobilien AG spent eight years planning and building the Deltapark, which was completed and officially opened in May 2016, giving the Gwatt site a new lease on life. Deltapark Vitalresort is part of Hauenstein Hotels, one of the four pillars of the Hauenstein Group.
