As a Restauranteur, you are responsible for the well-being of the guests and take on the role of host. You know everything there is to know about food and drink, know the secrets of wine and can mix a variety of cocktails. With empathy, good manners and a well-groomed appearance, you fulfill guests' wishes courteously and reliably.

Training Programme

Our different restaurants offer you the ideal opportunity to apply your specialist knowledge learned in vocational school. During your apprenticeship, you will work in every restaurant and get to know the different types of service. You will start in the breakfast service, and later, move to banquet service, the bar, the à la carte restaurant, and our Thai specialty restaurant. This variety guarantees you will never get bored and that will know exactly which area of gastronomy your would prefer after your training. Perhaps you will become the next star sommelier? Or perhaps a professional bartender? As your training progresses, you can take on more and more responsibility. You will soon be able to serve your own tables, and later even take over your own station. Our experienced restaurant managers will always be on hand with help and advice.

Good to know

Vocational School

Lessons at the technical college take place one day a week in Interlaken.

Salary

1st year of apprenticeship CHF 1,070 per month

2nd year of apprenticeship CHF 1,350 per month

3rd year of apprenticeship CHF 1,600 per month

Future perspectives

  • Shortened second apprenticeship as a Chef EFZ
  • Further training as a Sommelier
  • Professional examination as Restauranteur with a Federal Certificate and Certified Head Restauranteur
  • Study at a hotel management school to become a Dipl. Hôtelier/Restaurateur HF
