Are you fascinated by the hotel industry and interested in the interrelationships within a business? Are you very communicative, articulate and have an understanding of guests' needs?
As a Hotel Communications Specialist, you will be familiar with processes in the various departments and be able to lend a hand wherever necessary. You will work in the kitchen and housekeeping at the start of your training to learn how things function behind the scenes. Then, you'll be ready for the front of house and work in service and - for the majority of your training - at reception.
During your training, you will gain insight into many different departments in our hotel. After three years of training, your experience will be complete and you will know exactly what is needed to ensure a perfect hotel stay. At the beginning of your apprenticeship, you will be trained and work shifts in housekeeping and the kitchen. In housekeeping, you will discover what is important when cleaning rooms, and in the kitchen you will learn cutting methods, cooking, and the preparation of simple dishes. Armed with the basics, you will be ready for direct contact with guests and work in service. In addition to the basic rules of service, you will learn how to pour wine and serve guests professionally. In the second and third year, you will mainly work at reception. As a hotel communications specialist, you will take reservations, deal with guest requests, answer emails and write invoices. You will also gain insight into our marketing and human resources department.
